2. Marriage at Cana
Jesus and his disciples were invited to a marriage. Mary observed that they were running out of wine and so told Jesus. Jesus was reluctant to do anything because it was not the right time. Mary told the waiters to do whatever Jesus said.
Jesus told the waiters to fill six stone jars with water and to draw from them.
They brought the water made wine to the head waiter and after he had tasted it called the bridegroom and he wanted to know why he had kept the good wine till the end.
"This beginning of miracles Jesus did in Cana of Galilee; and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him." (Jn 2:11)
Behold, wonders of wonders,
God has become Man!
You, O Lord, changed the elements of this world in an instant.
You startle us into asking, "Who is this man?"
I do believe you are the Son of God!
If I believe this, I must also believe
that the union between man and woman is forever
because the marriage union participates in your
eternal loving union with the Father in the Spirit.
You invite us, O Father,
to the Marriage feast of Heaven,
an unimaginable union of love, joy and peace
through Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
