We read in Genesis, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; ... in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (Gn 1:26-27) Implied in these Biblical statements is the social Order of God because He said, "Let Us" and the image of God encompasses both male and female. St. Paul states that from the Father "every family in heaven and earth derives its name." (Eph 3:14-15) We know from the revelation of Christ that God is a community of persons consisting of the Father, Son and Spirit, existing in the l harmonious eternal order forever peaceful. "When God chose to create humanity in his image, he created marriage, a family. The community of the family constitutes a reflection of the community of the Divinity. Its identity, life and power come from God."(Web page/(God's Order in Family Life by Larry Christenson) This triune life of God is reflected each time a man and woman beget a child. There are those in society who wish to legalize marriage between homosexuals and lesbians which is contrary not only to the nature of things but also the Trinitarian image of God in which marriage participates. Man and woman from the beginning were meant to live in peace united in experiencing God's perfect will.

The revolt of Adam and Eve has now repercussions in the relationship between man and woman. "Their union ... [is now] threatened by discord, a spirit of domination, infidelity, jealousy, and conflicts that can escalate into hatred and separation. This disorder can manifest itself more or less acutely, and can be more or less overcome according to the circumstances of cultures, eras, and individuals, but it does seem to have a universal character." (Cat. of Catholic Church #1606)

The disorder in human nature now became evident in the descendants of Adam and Eve. On the Duomo of Milan we see the Cain killing Abel. In the story of Genesis Cain offered to God in sacrifice the fruits of the ground while Abel offered the firstlings of his flock. God accepted Abel's sacrifice but not Cain's. Cain got angry with God and jealous of his brother Abel. Since he could not harm God he took it out on his brother by killing him while out in the fields. And it is written that the blood of Abel cried out from the ground to God. Animals do not usually attack their own kind but man does attack and kill other human beings and at times with a ferocity unseen in animals. This then is the beginning of social disorder in time became organized by tribes, cities and states into full fledged war. Will this cycle of hatred and vengeance never end? Who will bring peace on earth?
