Christ was not anointed with oil but became the Anointed Savior from the first moment of his conception. He was sent by the Father and anointed by the Spirit. However, the manifestation of the anointed Savior came with his baptism by John in the Jordan when the Spirit was seen as a dove descending upon Christ and a voice was heard, "You are my beloved Son; with whom I am well pleased." (Mk 1:11)
The name given to him Jesus Christ means Anointed Savior
Christ's proclaimed his mission as the Anointed Savior using the words of the prophet Isaiah:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he anointed me
to bring glad tidings to the poor.
He sent me to proclaim liberty to captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free, ...."
(Lk 4:18-19)
Christ, God's Anointed, came to heal our infirmities and forgive our sins. Here we see Jesus raising to life the twelve year old daughter of Jairus. He simply took her by the hand and said, "Child, arise!" (Lk 8:54) Her breath returned and she immediately rose. Jesus healed many people but not all.
Why didn't Christ heal all those who were sick?
Usually Jesus demanded that they believe in him before healing and this faith in some was not present. Secondly, the fundamental cause of suffering and death was Sin which he would destroy by his death on the Cross and rising in the power or the Spirit. Christ's healings were sign of the God's Kingdom to come which would only be fully realized in meta history There would still be suffering on earth but now it would not be meaningless. We can unite ourselves with the suffering Christ thus aiding in the salvation of the world.
