God created woman having the same fundamental nature as man, that is, a rational creature like man, but God modulated her nature differently on the biological, psychological and spiritual levels of her being so that she could be a true companion, or complement man's nature.
Woman is closer to the rhythms of nature due to her biological makeup as the bearer of life. She is also more mystical, that is more sensitive to spiritual values such as goodness, piety, solicitude and protection. She, more readily than man, intuits the will of God and more willing to abandon herself to God's will. Although woman can work with intelligent abstract thought dealing with material endeavors, due to her inclinations toward persons, she is happier working with people.
But, there is also a darker side to woman because through her (Eve) sin entered the world. The fundamental sin of woman is to refuse to be a woman. She feels a call within her to self-immolation but she may refuse to answer it. Thus she may become an empty woman, a woman exhibiting her sexual charms for her own selfish ends and if married, she wants to retain her independence and does not want children. In her quest for independence from man, she may want a child without the direct involvement of man, through artificial insemination, or in the near future a likeness of herself by cloning. Thus will she have perverted her call and beauty of soul beyond recognition.
The book of Proverbs contrasts the two women thus,
