The miracles of Christ are an integral part of his mission to establish the kingdom of God on earth. They reveal the glory of God and are signs pointing to the divinity of Christ and reveals God mercy and compassion.

a) Calming of the sea: One evening a violent storm came upon Jesus and the apostles on the Sea of Galilee. It tossed the boat so wildly that they feared for their lives. They woke Jesus who rebuked the wind and the sea and a great calm ensued. The apostles were dumfounded and said: "What sort of man is this that even the wind and sea obey him?"

Christ revealed his superhuman power to modify the forces of nature and paved the way for the apostle's belief that He was the Son of God.

This miracle also suggests the power of Christ as God

who from the beginning creates and rules the vast cosmic order of the universe with the Father and the Spirit. Christ is also the Omega point who draws the apostles and countless generations of Christians to believe that He is truly the Son of God leading us to the joy of heaven.
