Mar's is God's incomplete world. It awaits man, the image of God, to probe its mysteries. Was Mars once covered with water? Did it have the beginning of life? If it had, did it originate on Mars or did it come from somewhere else in the solar system? How did it become such a desolate place?
We now probe for answers with robotic rovers but in the near future man in the flesh will land on its surface. Man is already dreaming of terraforming Mars, that is, making it in the likeness of earth so that it may sustain human life.
Men who recognize Christ as God's Son will carry his Church unto this new world. There their descendants will live and die generation after generation. They will have to struggle against the same fallen nature they inherited from earth and will offer the same sacrifice of Christ in reparation for the Sin of the world.
And to what end will all of this be?
God is slowly transforming his creation that will be fully realized with its completion.
We read in Revelation,
"After this I had a vision of a great multitude,
which no one could count, from every nation, race, people, and tongue.
They stood before the throne and before the Lamb,
wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
They cried out in a loud voice:
"'Salvation comes from our God, who is seated on the throne, and from the Lamb.'"
This apocalyptic vision was written with the Biblical world view in mind which knew the planet as a star. Actually it will read "I had a vision of a great multitude from every world, nation, race, people and tongue-and this every world will include Mars. Amen.
