

In Chapter 8 of the Tao Te Ching we read:
"The highest good is like water.
Water gives life to ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows to in places men reject and so is like the Tao [Way]."
How did God humble Himself? St. Paul in Philippians 2:6-8 tells us:
"Though he was in the form of God,
Jesus did not deem equality with God
something to be grasped at.
Rather he emptied himself
and took on the form of a slave,
being born in the likeness of man. ...
obediently accepting even death, death on a cross!"
